Hello! I’m Serene.
A Serene Birth is what I want to help women achieve by offering my services as a birth doula and childbirth educator. I have completed a DONA International approved birth doula training, am a certified as HypnoBirthing® education through HypnoBirthing International, and have a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science with concentrations in Biological Sciences and Behavioral & Social Sciences.
I draw on my professional training, knowledge, and experience to provide education, emotional support, physical comfort and, as needed, advocacy, to make sure that you have the information you need to make informed decisions as they arise in labor. As a childbirth educator, I can provide the knowledge and tools to empower a better birth. As a birth doula, I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progression, and help with relaxation, soothing touch, positioning and other techniques for comfort. As your doula, I am working for you, not your caregiver or hospital.
I currently live in Tamarac, Florida and I serve all of Broward county, as well as parts of Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties.
My Approach & Values
I approach every pregnancy and birth with an open mind and a full heart. I find that every birth teaches me something new.
First and foremost, I work to understand what the birth parent’s goals are and what it is most important for me to know about them. I also try to provide resources with information about any decisions the birthing person and their partner may have questions with.
Above all else I value autonomy, love, and support. A birthing person’s right to their autonomy. Always leaving space for love between the birthing person, their birth partner, and their baby. Support in empowering the birthing person and their team.
I Work With Parents of All Kinds
IVF Pregnancies often come with added complications, and the parents deserve the extra support as they bring their baby into the world.
We provide open-minded services to birthing parents and their partners regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or lifestyles.
A doula can help navigate the unique relationships involved in a surrogate birth, supporting the birthing person and the intended parents.
"Serene made labor much easier in terms of the physical and emotional aspects. Her calmness and knowledge, massage techniques, helpfulness to both myself and my husband were all things that helped me though labor. I am so grateful for all she did."

"As the first person to "hire" Serene, she and I both learned a lot and it was amazing having a really close friend there during the most important day of my life. Arya was born in a room full of love."
